Bluestack Mountains – Lough Eske

Donegal is my home. It’s where I belong. It’s where I feel a connection that beats in my heart, a connection that is deep in my soul. Donegal has defined me. It has made me who I am. It has shaped and moulded me. This is ‘MyDonegal’.

I feel at one with nature and I marvel at the majestic, rugged landscape of mountain and sea as well as the beauty of Lough Eske, where I’m so lucky to live. There is a wildness about Donegal that I love. It sets me free. And yet, it gives me a clear sense of calm that gently soothes my mind.

I have happy childhood memories of playing on the beach at Rossnowlagh. Learning to swim, learning to drive. Galloping through the water on a horse. Eating chips and ice-cream. Sandy, soggy tomato sandwiches. Family dinners filled with noise and laughter.

Donegal is where I met my true love, Marc and made a family in our home called The Cozy Spot. I feel so proud of Carl, James and Christina who are shaping up to be fine young adults. They too are proud to call Donegal their home.

I was lucky to find a job, make a career and build a business in my homeland of Donegal. Thirty years of happy hotel-keeping at Harvey’s Point. Now it’s time to put family first. The next chapter will involve promoting Donegal at home and abroad as well as helping other businesses find their path.

Donegal Connect is an exciting initiative which reaches out to everyone who loves Donegal, both at home and abroad. So let’s connect together and show the world that Donegal does indeed ‘have it all’.
